ants Ants ANTS!
Steve was getting his coffee into a thermal cup and ready to go to work when I yelled “holy Chit, Batman!
THAT got his attention!
I was being overwhelmed as the Giant Ants were litterally pouring out the stand that holds the TV!
He ran over to help, and in just minutes the entire colony was on the run and doing the death dive to the floor.
We were doing the stomp…
For weeks, since the cold snap, I have seen ant actvity in the house. Ants outside are one thing, but inside…..
My stated Mission Statement is to ‘Kill Every Bug On This Island’.. I really hate bugs!
I have been killing them as I see them but the last two nights were worrysome as the numbers got big..
BIG numbers and Big ants. I kept watching and counting how many from which direction, trying to determine where they were coming in and decided there had to be a nest inside.
” I have heard that ants love the wiring in the TV”
“Not to worry, that this was transistorized”… “
Still, there were big numbers around the TV credenza”.Steve! Between last night and now I got a hundred something. You’re not interested in my kill numbers…you should be jumping up and down like me~
He responed with “What’s this TV doing on??? (We hardly turn on the TV until 6:00pm.)” I think the ants are using the compartment as a nest and a place to keep warm”.
He sighed.. exasperated with me…
I grab the can of ant spray.. “I wonder what would happen if I sprayed in thru here”. I sprayed….Then all ^%&*&^% broke loose and they poured out.. I was getting overwhelmed. I never saw anything like it!!!
Did I mention these guys are BIG

The ones with wings are half again as long as a dime and the thick black headed striped ones , without wings are every bit as wide as a dime. I cannot believe that there was only 763.. ( I counted) I thought there was at least 3000…and some escaped.. others are coming out of the wood work to save the colony and by tomorrow or the nest day, they’ll clean out the nest and toss out another bunch.I never saw anything like it~ I’ll have to herd them back outside, the ones that don’t make it to the auto foot washer. ewwwwwww gross!

me don’t like bugs….especially not in the house! ryc: I try to get bodywork of some kind once a week. It has kept me out of the hospital and doctor’s office among other things.
holy chit, batman… those are gigantic… kill ‘em… kill ‘em all!! stupid bugs…
We have the pesky little ants that are commonly known around here as “Sugar Ants” or “Grease Ants”. I use a little device I saw on QVC to get rid of them. You plug this thing into a wall socket, it reverses the electricity in the wiring, setting up a vibration, bugs just leave. I tried everthing before getting this, they would always come back. My sister uses them in Arizona, it keeps the outside of the house clear of Black Widows!! It’s called Riddex, and I’ve actually found them on Ebay as well. marilyn
Gasp~That is something right out of a Hitchcock movie! Those are like Oregon’s Carpenter ants. Only our queens have the wings.
