DeeeDee’s grape paintings
I spent a few okay, more than a few hours getting my paint pallet refreshed. Deciding what new and better colors are out there and what I felt I wanted to incorporated into my pallet.
Decisions decisions decisions.
Once I cleaned up the mess of digging out old colors and refreshing others.. I realized that I had not tested the new colors for non staining… Sigh!
I do have some non-staining color in the bin.. because I cannot find that color in non staining.
Locating good paints are impossible on Island.
I order from my favorite Internet artist suppliers.
It is all by guess and by golly and expensive because of the Hawaii and Alaska shipping gouge.Sometimes the shipping is way more than the actual cost of the item, so I really have to want it and put up with the 6 week wait time…. that that was another blog.
I have cleaned out the painting space ( art studio ) in the garage so many times things are showing wear…. but it did save my space, even in an over sized 30 x30 garage.
It looks like DeeDee ( my daughter ) is getting her paintings (3) I promised. I sure did not mean it to take so long.
I luv painting fruit .. for obvious reasons ~
These are the sweetest grapes I EVER ate
They were grown on the mainland , Reseeda, California.
I’ll have to tell my grocer so he will buy their produce again. When I got these to paint, I realized the color of the grape leaves were already close.
Such is life. I would have to figure out how to keep some reality and yet make them
stand out in the painting .
With most of my paintings, I ignore it for a day and then I put it in the house, where I will look at it for a few more days. One of my things is to set it upside down or look at it in a mirror. For some reason, needed changes really stand out.
My BIG SECRET! They all look wonderful and great with a mat around them…
I think it is good enough to put my signature on it.
All ya’ll have a nice day!

It’s good enough for your signature all right and they look good enough to eat!
That is a divine painting for Dee! And I’m so glad to see you getting back out there and doing what you do best. Are you going to finish the other grapes, too? I can’t wait to see that one on the top left…

lmao! That mini has got me giggling… Thanks!!! Yes.. I am on my way out there to mix a color for the red grapes. DeeDee sent a photo of the painting that has the color she likes. (It does look real). I am determined to be out there and get back to painting. Just to tempt you, I have a drawing in mind for a special something for you. I also am going to do something special I have already done for Marsha, dream up and idea /work on Christmas card for this year and I know I owe from last year… and finish DeeDee’s afghan, get going on yours.
I love your paintings! I can’t paint. Not even a little bit. I’ll stick to the cross-stitch and admire your handi-work!
Beautiful!
