I have always wanted a glider. I had a glider chair once..  and I loved it.

When Kevin was moving to a smaller patio, he put his glider up for sale. I jumped at the chance to own it.

Every time I babysat their Girlz, Freckles and Molly, I’d have my morning coffee, read the paper/magazines/books or knit and watch the world/wild donkeys come by…there snuggled into a cozy corner. Molly on her blanket and Freckles checking out the morning scents left by midnight visitors ( cats) .
I’d have my cup sitting on the lotus lily pad leaf tables with their painted frogs on them.

I know he and Matt liked them, but they were/are the end all favorite with me.

I brought them home and set it in several places on my uncovered patio. They looked good anywhere I set them.
The winds natural WINDS prevented me from sitting there very often.

Early yesterday morning (3:00am) we had a drought breaking rain and I ran to get the pillows under cover.
Right then and there I decided that no mater how crowded, the set was moving to the covered lanai.

I would have to do it on my own… using my favorite ‘Do it Yourself tool, a rug.

… around the corner into the hallway

shuffle shuffle furniture and across the family room

I made it to the last doorway.. shifting furniture everywhere out of my way.

It is close..on the narrower side of the lanai, but it does make a perfect wind
    protected reading and knitting spot.

( Picture the stack of magazines on the table top )

and from the other direction  …

Totally at peace, I had my coffee out there this morning with Daizy and the warm morning sun on my feet.
    How GOOD is that ?

  • I have many of those “glider” pads that you put down and it allows you to move things easily on rugs. Do you know what I’m talking about?? I first bought them on QVC years ago but when we moved Jen 2 yrs ago I got a big package at Wal Mart. Some of the pads are 4 x 6 inches and some little ones that would fit under the leg of a small chair. I use them to move complete wall units. marilyn

  • It is beautiful and I think you will use it a lot out there.

Awesome Maggie, I will be checking that out… WalMart. Really sounds like independence~ lol
Did you get that ‘fridge. this is the perfect fridge. it is Lucky Goldstar way up on the Consumers union charts. It would have been better if I had gotten the larger one… and Ice and water in the door that I am used to.
YES! getting together this year.. Maybe you can come here?

  • Sounds really peaceful, and it looks so pretty
