  • Pet warning

Puppies and some adult dogs will eat anything. I offer the following warning that I received today.
Spring is around the corner and we need to be aware of a possible danger before we begin our yard renovations.

    ……………ESPECIALLY TOXIC ON SMALLER ANIMALS!

Daisy ate half a braided straw mat in just minutes of not being watched on the Lanai. We have pretty much puppy proofed the inisde of the house, but..she eats everything in the yard including rocks, weeds and roots.. Plasterboard and paper… Bits of rugs ‘n’ bugs… including ants ewwwwwwww! and the overflow water from under the truck.

We have some pretty toxic slugs. All things considered, the back and front yards are off limits or on leash only…
At this rate, she will be grounded (have to live in the house and on the lanai) until she is 40!

  • Bandit is half Yorkie, half Silky. He too will eat anything and everything. I have to watch him out in the yard. The birds throw seed all over the ground and he thinks that is he food bowl. Plus, june bugs….he loves that time of year.

Daisy is just so darn cute. Love the toy stuffed in the shoe.

  • Hopefully the overflow under the truck is the run off from the condensation from the ac and not from the  water of the car. The water of the car has antifreeze in it and that is also very very dangerous for pets and humans.  It will taste sweet to them and they will lap it up.  But if it is condensation from the ac running it is ok.  I just love that puppy of yours.  I want one so bad but hubby doesn’t – so we have only cats- but I love them too!

  • Right. No chocolate. And No raisins…and so much more. I’m sure Daisy can become quite accustomed to living the good life indoors.
